Club Brugge Kv Borussia Dortmund Uefa Champions League

Club Brugge pulls of an incredible upset at home against Borussia Dortmund

Dortmund remains winless in group stages after 2–0 loss at Club Brugge

Club Brugge pulled off a stunning 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, continuing the German club's poor start to the group stage.

A dream start for Club Brugge

Club Brugge took the lead in the 32nd minute when Kamal Sowah found the back of the net, giving the home side a shock lead.

The Belgian champions doubled their advantage just before half-time when Ferran Jutgla netted, putting Dortmund on the brink of a third straight defeat in the group stage.

Dortmund’s struggles continue

The defeat leaves Dortmund bottom of Group G with just one point from three games, while Club Brugge climbed to second place with four points.

This result puts Dortmund's qualification hopes in jeopardy, as they now face an uphill battle to qualify for the knockout stages.

What went wrong for Dortmund?

Dortmund were outplayed by Club Brugge in all areas of the pitch, and they were unable to create many clear-cut chances.

The German club’s defence was also poor, as they allowed Club Brugge to score two goals from set-pieces.

Dortmund will need to improve significantly if they want to get their Champions League campaign back on track.
