Premier League Striker Makes Move to Saints

Armstrong Joins Southampton on Four-Year Deal

Southampton Football Club has announced the signing of striker Adam Armstrong from Blackburn Rovers. The 24-year-old has signed a four-year deal with the Premier League club for an undisclosed fee.

Armstrong was the second-highest scorer in the Championship last season, with 29 goals in 40 appearances. He helped Blackburn reach the Championship play-off semi-finals, where they were defeated by Swansea City.

Armstrong is a product of Newcastle United's academy. He made his first-team debut for the Magpies in 2014 and spent time on loan at Coventry City, Barnsley, and Blackburn Rovers before joining the latter on a permanent deal in 2020.

Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhüttl said: "Adam is a young, exciting player with a proven track record of scoring goals at a high level. We believe he has the potential to be a valuable addition to our squad and we are delighted to have him on board."
